first time user ! So far so good !
I have been searching for an Onsong alternative for Android, but every one I have tried is flawed on a number of levels. Songbook is one of the best and certainly one of the easiest to work with. Being able to download it from their website to try it out was very helpful as it is a rather pricey application (but we'll worth it, as it turns out).
I've only had it five minutes, how am I supposed to rate it so quickly? I'm only doing this now to stop the fecking thing asking me to rate it, it might be the best thing ever or the thing that tips me over the edge into rage and insanity and killing my family in an orgy of blood and fire, we'll have to wait and see. XxX
We did a lot of research before settling on Songbook. Used On Song previously and needed something more Android friendly. Biggest selling point for us was the ease with which we can download songs from the internet and automatically have them converted to Chordpro format. (For newbies like I was when I started this search for an answer to binders full of charts, often in disarray, Chordpro is a special format that allows programs and apps to easily manipulate songs, transposing with a click being one major perk. ) Songs may need some minimal tweeking, once downloaded, but the heavy lifting is done by the app. It also seems out songs on the internet for you that are Chordpro friendly. Enjoying coming into the modern era of music, (albeit a little late), with an app that's easy to use.
I totally love this product. I'm not that proficient with computers but I find this program very easy to use. It's very fast to download songs from the Internet, some times the chords might not be 100%, but it's easy to correct ,have also written several songs which was easy to put in to the song list. So far I have appr 100 songs in the program, my cumbersome binders are getting pretty thin, nice to not have to lug them around. Love the way you can change the key quickly as I play with different people that might not sing in the key I have the song downloaded. The scrolling feature is also great. I highly recommend this product Kent
Songbook is useful and pretty much does what it says it does, but there is a huge learning curve to figure out how to set up your docs so they work well with the scroll. The help feature is not always helpful - lots of gaps in topic coverage. This is a problem when the app is not real intuitive. I have contacted the vendor with questions and they do respond timely, but a lot of the questions I've had should be more accessible. Haven't found a better option for Android tabs, to scroll lyrics, so sticking with it.
