About this app

Lithico turns your phone into a field kit for rockhounding — identify the rocks and
minerals you're most likely to find, then go further with the same physical tests real
collectors use.

POINT YOUR CAMERA, GET REAL CANDIDATES
Snap a photo and Lithico returns a short list of likely matches, each with its own
confidence bar — never a single overconfident guess. When a photo alone can't settle
it, we say so and explain why.

GUIDED TESTS, NOT JUST A PHOTO
Some minerals only separate under a scratch test, a streak test, or a magnet. Lithico
walks you through the Mohs hardness scale and the streak test step by step, explains
why each result narrows the list, and gets you to a confirmed answer even when the
photo alone couldn't.

BUILD A REAL ROCK COLLECTION
Every confirmed find is saved to your collection with the date, your notes, and — if
you turn location on — a map of where you found it. Your collection travels with you
and exports in full whenever you want it, on any plan.

A FIELD GUIDE FOR WHAT YOU'LL ACTUALLY FIND
Look up hardness, streak, luster, crystal habit and cleavage for the rocks and
minerals you're most likely to find on a walk, at the beach, or on a dig. Curious
about the folklore behind a stone? Lore & tradition entries are clearly labelled as
tradition, not fact.

START FREE, STAY FREE
Five scans a month, unlimited guided tests, and the full field guide — no account
required. Need more scans? Lithico Pro adds a higher monthly scan allowance
(300 scans/month, fair use) for A$5.99/month or A$29.99/year, with a 7-day free trial
on the annual plan. No ads, ever.

Rockhounding trip, geology class, a gifted rock tumbler, a windowsill mineral
collection — Lithico meets you at the field guide, the streak test, and the specimen
in your hand.
