About this app

The film photography log for shooters who still load a roll — an analog film tracker for 35mm film
and 120 that keeps every roll, every frame and every setting in one private, offline logbook, and
then matches your notes back to your scans when the film comes home.

Emulsion Log is a film roll logbook built around the way film actually works: you load a roll, you
shoot it frame by frame, you unload it, and weeks later the scans arrive. The log holds both halves.
Nothing else in the category closes that gap.

LOG THE ROLL IN ONE SHEET
Film stock, ISO, exposures, camera, lens, format, push or pull — one sheet when the roll goes in.
The count then runs itself: every frame you log advances the counter, and the roll knows when it is
full.

LOG EVERY FRAME IN SECONDS
Frame number, shutter, aperture, EV compensation, metering mode and a note — manual first, every
field explicitly set or explicitly blank. The frame number is written by the log, never typed, so the
counter cannot drift from the sheet. Undo takes the last frame back; skipped frames are recorded as
the blanks they were.

EXPOSURE LOG THAT STAYS IN ORDER
Film photography is a discipline of notes. "Portra 400 at 800, one stop pushed, 1/125 at f/2" is the
whole reason a logbook exists, and every frame carries its own record in tabular mono columns that
line up like a contact sheet.

THE CONTACT SHEET
The screen no other film app has. Your roll as a grid of negatives, six across, one cell per real
frame. A logged frame is an exposed cell waiting; a frame with a scan is a print. Scan match fills
the sheet from your camera roll in frame order — the shot-to-scan gap closed in one tap.

FIGURES FOR THE ANALOG SHOOTER
Rolls shot, frames logged, your most-used stock, the busiest month, per-stock and per-camera
tallies. Pro opens the figures and the scan match; the log itself is never held back.

YOUR DARKROOM, ON YOUR PHONE
Warm paper, one safelight, black rebate. The app is built to feel like the notebook that comes back
from the lab, not another camera simulator.

FREE MEANS THE WHOLE LOGBOOK
Every roll, every frame, every note is free, unlimited, forever. CSV export and JSON backup and
restore are free too — a logbook you cannot get out of is a lock-in, whatever the paywall says. No
account, no sign-up, no analytics, no sync. The log never leaves your phone unless you export it
yourself.

One-time purchase. No subscription, no ads, no account.
