About this app

🔒 Lockout — Instant Biometric Lockdown for Android

Protect your phone against forced, coerced, or involuntary unlocks. Lockout immediately turns off your display and enforces your primary authentication (PIN, Pattern, or Password) on the next unlock, completely disabling biometric authentication (fingerprint and face unlock).

🚨 WHY LOCKOUT?

While stock Android includes a native "Lockdown" toggle, many OEM skins omit or bury this vital feature.

If someone compels you to touch your fingerprint sensor or hold your phone to your face (e.g., while asleep, travelling, or detained), biometrics offer virtually no legal or physical protection.

Lockout invokes Android's hardware-level DevicePolicyManager.lockNow(), placing the OS into the STRONG_AUTH_REQUIRED state. Biometrics remain completely disabled until you type your PIN, pattern, or password.

⚡ 4 INSTANT TRIGGERS

• Physical Volume Key Shortcut: Double-press, triple-press, or sequence volume buttons (e.g. Vol Down → Vol Up) to trigger emergency lockdown discreetly without waking your screen.
• 1x1 Home Screen Widget: Sleek, edge-to-edge dark squircle with ambient glow for fast 1-tap locking.
• Quick Settings Tile: Add the "Lockout" tile directly to your notification shade for instant access anytime.
• Draggable Floating Button: Optional always-on-top button with customizable opacity and double-tap trigger to prevent accidental locks.
• Direct App Shortcut: Launch the app to lock immediately or configure profiles.

🎨 AMOLED CUSTOMIZATION

• True Black (#000000) Screen: Instant OLED pixel shutoff to save battery.
• 11 Cinematic Animations: Heavy Iris Collapse, Padlock Swivel, CRT Power Off, Matrix Rain, Pulse Snap, Fade & Zoom, Cyber Glitch, and more.
• 14 Typography Styles: Heavy Impact, Cyber Monospace, Minimal Sans, Terminal Hacker, Tech HUD, and more.
• 12 Dynamic Palettes: Crimson Alert, Cyberpunk Neon, Electric Blue, Sunset Orange, and clean monochrome with targeted icon/text coloring.
• Live Looping Preview: Test animations and styles before saving.

🛡️ ZERO TELEMETRY & 100% PRIVATE

• Zero Internet Permission: `android.permission.INTERNET` is completely absent. It is technically impossible for Lockout to transmit data off your device.
• Zero Trackers: No ads, no analytics, no third-party SDKs, and no telemetry.
• Local Storage Only: Preferences are stored strictly on your local device.

⚙️ PERMISSIONS EXPLAINED

• Device Administrator (BIND_DEVICE_ADMIN): Requests only the `` policy to turn off screen and disable biometrics. Cannot wipe data, read passwords, or monitor unlocks.
• Accessibility Service (BIND_ACCESSIBILITY_SERVICE — OPTIONAL): Detects volume key shortcut sequences. Strictly filters key events only. Cannot read screen content, inspect forms, or log typing. Zero internet access. Disabled by default.
• Display Over Other Apps (OPTIONAL): Used solely for the floating lock button. Never requested for widget, tile, or volume key users.
• Foreground Service (OPTIONAL): Keeps the floating button active without being killed by battery savers. Zero background activity when button is OFF.

🗑️ UNINSTALLING

Android requires deactivating Device Administrator before uninstallation:
1. Open Lockout and toggle "Device Admin" OFF (or go to Settings > Security > Device Admin Apps).
2. Uninstall normally.
