About this app

PIN service app for caretakers, school staff, and administrators. Securely retrieve locker PINs – for on-site management and service at your school.

With the AstraDirect Caretaker PIN, caretakers, school staff, and administrators log in and receive the current 4-digit PIN for their assigned lockers – quickly, securely, and always available.

Note: This app is intended exclusively for school staff and is not for students.

How to retrieve the PIN:

1. Manually enter the locker number or take a photo of the locker with your camera. Text recognition is performed directly on the device (Google ML Kit); the image is not uploaded.

2. Verify using device biometrics (Face ID, Touch ID, fingerprint, Windows Hello) or device lock.

3. Press and hold on the PIN card to reveal the code. Releasing it immediately hides it again.

Who is the app for?

The app is exclusively for school principals, caretakers, and authorized personnel who are permitted to open compartments in an AstraDirect locker system. Access is linked to your school email address – private individuals cannot register.

First-time setup:

1. Create an account
On the home screen, tap "Create account," select your school from the list, and create your account using your school email address. The email address must belong to the selected school.

2. Confirm your email address
You will shortly receive an email with a confirmation link. Tap the link – the app will proceed automatically once your email address is confirmed.

3. Activate this device
To retrieve compartment PINs on this device, tap "Send code" in the app. We will send you a 6-digit one-time code to your school email address.

4. Enter the code
Enter the code from the email into the app and tap "Activate."

5. Done

You can now retrieve locker PINs using the locker number.

Note: You will only receive the one-time code after requesting it in the app – it is not sent automatically. Only one activated device is active per account; if you change devices, simply request a new code on the new device.

Security and Data Protection:

- Every PIN request is logged on the server and is only visible to administrators.

- Automatic anomaly detection (e.g., an unusually high number of requests per hour or access outside of school hours) informs responsible administrators via email. No fully automated individual decision-making as defined in Article 22 of the GDPR takes place.

- PIN codes are generated on the server and only transmitted briefly for display purposes. No PIN history is stored on the device.

- Optional additional app protection via device biometrics. Biometric data does not leave the device – the matching is performed by the operating system.


- Account and Data Deletion:

In the app's profile section, under "Delete Account," you will find a request to delete your account and the associated personal data. The deletion will be confirmed within 30 days. Statutory retention obligations (e.g., commercial records of safe deposit box transfers) remain unaffected.
