NATRAS AG has been appointed by the Federal Office for Customs and Border Security (FOCBS) as the national provider for the collection of the distance-related heavy vehicle charge (HVCIII) in Switzerland and plays a central role in this.
The NATRAS APP is a supplementary application that
supports vehicle owners in integrating their vehicles into the HVC system.
Function and purpose of the NATRAS app
The NATRAS app has been developed to make the registration of vehicle identification numbers (VIN) and the assignment to a vehicle recording system (VRS) more efficient and user-friendly. The HVC requires vehicle operators to provide certain information about their vehicles and to ensure that these are correctly integrated into the system. The app makes these processes much easier by enabling vehicle owners to register and manage their vehicles quickly and easily using their mobile device.
Main features of the NATRAS app
The NATRAS app includes several key features designed to make the registration process as easy as possible for users. These features include:
1. User registration: Users of the NATRAS APP must first successfully register and log in. Registration is done through the NATRAS AG Online Service Desk, where vehicle owners verify their identity and gain access to their personal owner account.
2. Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) registration: One of the main features of the app is the ability to register a vehicle's VIN. The VIN is a unique 17-digit number that identifies each vehicle worldwide. This registration is necessary to register the vehicle in the HVC system.
3. Assigning a vehicle recording system (VRS): After registering a VIN, the app allows users to assign the vehicle to an existing VRS. The VRS is the technical system that records the HVC data (position data) and is responsible for calculating the charge.
4. VRS de-allocation: Should it be necessary to remove the allocation of an VRS from a FIN, the app also offers this option. This may be necessary, for example, if a vehicle is to be removed from the HVC system or re-allocated to a new recording system.
Availability and languages
The NATRAS-APP has been developed for the Swiss market and is therefore available in the national languages of Switzerland – German, French, Italian – as well as in English.
Terms of use
The NATRAS-APP is for use only by vehicle operators who have been verified by the Federal Office for Customs and Border Security (FOCBS) as being liable for the HVC. This ensures that only authorised users can access the system and register their vehicles. Consequently, a mandatory requirement for using the app is to register successfully with the NATRAS AG Online Service Desk. Without this prior registration, the NATRAS-APP cannot be used.
