About this app

Live weather radar with rain alerts, local forecast, and hurricane tracker. The most accurate radar map for Android - made for people who need accurate weather, right now.

Going outside, planning a day out, flying a drone, or watching a storm approach? Rain Viewer shows the actual rain on the map. Data goes from radar to your screen in seconds - direct from the source, not a third-party feed. Our radar pipeline runs in millions of installs and feeds several major weather brands.

The radar map you actually use:

  • Tap the map to see rain intensity at any point. Tap satellite for cloud top temperature. Tap an alert zone for the full advisory

  • Live indicator shows when you are seeing the most recent scan. New frames appear automatically

  • 48-hour history. 2-hour rain forecast updated every 10 minutes. 60fps vector map with precipitation arrows

  • Coverage in 80+ countries across the Americas, Europe, Asia (Japan, India, Thailand, China, South Korea), and Oceania

Hourly and 14-day forecast: Temperature, weather conditions, and chance of precipitation hour by hour for 72 hours. Wind direction and speed too, with units you choose: km/h, mph, m/s, knots, or Beaufort. Tap any day to see UV index, humidity, wind, sunrise, and sunset (Android only). Models: ICON, GFS, HRRR, ECMWF, and WRF-ROMS Thailand.

Minute-by-minute precipitation: When rain is on the way, the forecast screen shows when it starts, peaks, and stops.

Rain alerts you can rely on: Set custom alerts for your locations. Get national severe weather alerts from the US, most of Europe, Thailand, Saudi Arabia, and more. Set thresholds so you only get notified for what you care about.

Hurricane and storm tracker: Get timed alerts that show exactly when a storm reaches you. Choose hurricane wind speed units: mph, km/h, m/s, or knots.

AI Weather Insights: Our AI looks at the radar images near you and writes a short summary of what to expect in the next few hours. Like a personal meteorologist on your phone.

Pro Radar (US + most of Europe, 22 countries): Doppler products on all tilts - reflectivity, velocity, spectrum width, and the differential measurements used by meteorologists.

Weather widgets: Resizable radar widget and minute-by-minute rain widget for your home screen. Foldable support including Galaxy Z Fold.

Privacy: No data collection. No data sales. Location is used only for local forecast and rain alerts.

Free to download. Upgrade for the radar archive, AI insights, and Pro Doppler products.

The information seems decent, and the paid seems compelling but I constantly get full screen ads that I have to wait on to time out. I wanted to just try the free version before upgrading but the stream of full screen ads just makes me feel like I'm being railroaded into a paid tier. I'm going to try other options before deciding. This one is definitely the most ad invasive app I've ever experienced.

Hi. Sorry for inconvenience caused by the 3rd party ads in the free version. We check the ads algorithms regularly, trying to make them not annoying but yet useful and profitable for us. Please note that our subscription provides totally ad-free experience. Hopefully, you'll find the app to be useful no matter which app version you choose to use.

From what I could see the app itself was decent. I liked the layout and data organization. But, the ads were intrusive, especially the Temu ones. The lines of ads were not bad, but the full screen ones stopped me in my tracks, and one wrong click, and boom...it's opening my browser and taking me to God knows where. I was not ready to plop down $20 without more experience, so I deleted it. Maybe consider being ad free or less intrusive until I am hooked on the app. This was too easy to delete

I used to like the app. Having some kind of indication if there was going to be rain around. It wasn't always accurate, but it seemed pretty decent. There was an ad every now and then, which I didn't mind. Now there is an ad every 5 seconds. You don't even have the chance to see how the rain is moving before you get another ad. Super annoying and reason for me to delete the app. I understand nothing is free, but the amount of ads is just ridiculous.
