About this game

Unthread is a free offline puzzle game for Android. Every board is a picture drawn from tangled threads, and each thread ends in an arrow. Tap the arrow and the whole thread slides out along its own route — but only if the lane ahead of it is clear. Find the right order and the picture unravels, one thread at a time.

HOW DO YOU PLAY UNTHREAD?
Tap a thread's arrow to pull that thread off the board. A thread can only leave if the straight lane in front of its arrow is empty all the way to the edge. Tap a blocked thread and it bumps into whatever is in front of it, and that costs one of your three lives. Clear the outside first and the middle opens up.

HOW MANY LEVELS DOES UNTHREAD HAVE?
150 levels, built one at a time. Level 1 is a four-move tutorial. The last boards hold more than a hundred interlocking threads.

IS EVERY LEVEL SOLVABLE?
Yes. Every board is constructed in reverse and checked by a solver before it ships, so a solution always exists. When you are stuck you are one move away from seeing it, never trapped.

DOES UNTHREAD WORK OFFLINE?
Yes. The whole game lives on your device. No account, no sign-in, no connection needed to play, and your progress stays on your phone.

IS UNTHREAD FREE?
Yes. Free to download and free to play, supported by ads. There are no in-app purchases and nothing is locked behind a payment.

HOW IS IT DIFFERENT FROM UNBLOCK AND SLIDING-BLOCK PUZZLES?
In an unblock or sliding-block puzzle the pieces move as rigid shapes. In Unthread a thread follows its own winding route out, so one thread can snake across half the board before it escapes. That single rule changes everything about the order you have to play in.
