Lyre Quill Chords is a silent music theory explorer. Turn the circle of fifths, read every key's diatonic chords, and see correctly spelled scales and chords on piano and guitar. No audio, just clear notation.
TURN THE WHEEL
Drag or tap the circle of fifths. The key under the gold marker becomes the active key, with its relative minor and key signature in view. Each key lists its diatonic chords with Roman numerals and spelled notes, as triads or as sevenths.
CHORDS SPELLED RIGHT
Chords from triads to thirteenths are spelled by letter and accidental, not just by pitch. F major gets B flat, an E major chord gets G sharp. Every chord is drawn on piano keys, in a guitar chord box and on a full neck map.
SCALES AND MODES
Every scale and mode shows its degree formula and its whole and half step pattern, drawn on the piano and across the guitar neck.
QUIZ YOURSELF
Name the chord from its letters, or tap a scale's notes in order. Feedback is visual with haptics, and your progress and last selections are saved on your device.
