About this app

Ever go out having fun but nervous about phone almost dying? Ever travel to a different city but forgot your charger? With Lyte, you won't ever have to worry about this again! Lyte allows you to rent a portable charger and return from any charging stations in the city.

What is Lyte?

Lyte provides a network of stations where you can rent and return a portable phone charger anywhere in the city. These chargers come with 5000mAh of power and cables for Android devices.

How does Lyte work?

1. Open Lyte app and find charging stations close to you.
2. Scan QR code on charging station to release a portable charger.
3. Use the right cable to charge your phone.
4. Push the portable charger back into an open slot on any charging station across the map.

Where can I find Lyte?

You can find Lyte charging stations by accessing the map view in the app and locate the stations near you. We are currently available in Los Angeles, US and London, UK with plans to expand to 10+ major cities in the world by the end of 2020. If you are interested in having a Lyte charging station near you, please email us at :)

How much do I pay?

Lyte charges $1 or £1 / 30 minutes depending on your location. If a portable charger is not returned in 24 hours, we will charge a flat fee of $29.90 or £29.90 loss fee and terminate the order on your phone. After that, the portable charger is yours to keep.

I saw the Lyte kiosk in a pub and I tried it out to see if it is a viable option in the future. It said the first 5 mins are free so I used it for about 2. The next morning I find that I was charged 20 pounds for no particular reason. I am now trying to access the app so that I can complain and try to get my money back and the app is stuck on the first screen, asking for my phone number. I definitely would recommend you avoid using this service, there will always be a charger behind the bar.

Saved my phone at Alton Towers after I had run the battery down using maps to get there. Gave it the boost needed to make sure I didn't miss any of the brilliant photo oops. Also made sure I found my way home. Quick to download the app and easy to use the charger as well.

The app's map does not include kiosk locations, so I cannot return the charger. So now I'm stuck with having to pay for a useless charger. Not cool.
