About this app

"Ma'aser" helps you know at any moment how much you have donated this month, and how much more you still have to donate.
Specifically adapted to 'Pledge' - a pre-commitment to charity even before the profits.

■ The monthly goal, clearly
The home screen displays a meter that fills up according to your progress this month: how much you have donated, how much is left, and how many days are left until the end of the period.

■ Handling deficit and balance
Did you donate more than the goal? The next month will start with a reduced goal. Did you donate less? You can choose whether the deficit is closed or continues as a debt for the next month. Three modes to choose from:
• No rollover - each month starts clean
• Surplus rollover only (default) - you donated more
• Surplus and deficit rollover - for those who manage accurate tithing

■ Hebrew or foreign calendar
Choose whether your month starts on the 1st of the Hebrew month or on the 1st of the foreign month.

■ Standing orders
A fixed monthly donation is registered once and appears automatically each month. You can set it to end after a number of months, on a specific date, or "until further notice."
(Changing the amount of a standing order does not rewrite the past: the months that have already passed remain with the actual amount.)

■ Synchronization between devices — end-to-end encrypted
Couples can connect two or more devices to the same account and see the same donations. The connection is made by scanning a QR code or typing a short ID.
The donation name, amount, and comments are encrypted on your device before they are sent. The key is stored in the system's secure database and is not sent anywhere - meaning that even the app operators cannot read your donation data. To support the complete privacy of your donations, the account is not linked to an email address but to a unique identifier. Email yourself the ID and password you set - they cannot be recovered.
The feature is turned off by default. The app works fully without it.

■ Backup to Google Drive
Backup to the app's private folder in your Drive account. We don't see it and don't
have access to it. This feature is also completely optional.

■ Reminders that you control
A reminder towards the end of the month if you're still far from your goal, and a reminder at the beginning of a new month to enter your goal. You can set the time, the number of days in advance, and the percentage threshold - or turn it off completely.

■ Price
Currently, the app is free and without ads. In the future, we may offer you donation suggestions for various organizations and institutions. The ads will be within the app in a pleasant and non-intrusive way.
