This app is very invasive. There's no need to have alarms and reminders permission to track loads. There is no need to have the app constantly have location access in the background either. The brokers don't even pay any attention to the tracking. They just keep calling and pestering the driver regardless.

The app itself seems to work well, but I only install it when required for a specific load, then I DELETE as soon as I deliver. I suspect that the seemingly constant location ping, 30 min or less in between, will drain a battery in a matter of hours! Keeping a phone plugged in will destroy battery life, yes, I heard the collective "DUH" from the techy people.. I do wonder why companies are requesting this of drivers, when they work for a company that tracks any way...

Thanks for reviewing! If you set location permissions to “while using”, the app will not collect locations until you open the app. Closing the app prevents location tracking. We only report locations when a load is assigned. As for why the app, we connect to ELDs as well. Brokers assign many carriers. It’s ELD coordination vs easy mobile app use.

Installed this app and uninstalled it after it wouldn't track without allowing permission for Alarms & Reminders. I will not allow that permission simply for the fact that Alarms & Reminders override the Do Not Disturb setting. I do not want to be disturbed when I am on sleeper birth. Edit: If the permission is only used to wake up the app, and not to send any audible alarms, maybe explicitly state that on the page that asks for the permission. I have no problem with it if that's the case.

We will take a look at updating the alarms request to clarify usage for our next release. The only use of alarms/reminders by our app is to wake up the app to send locations. We don’t actually set off audible alarms. Hope that clarifies.
