About this app

AzMesh connects phones directly to each other over Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. There is no internet, no server and no account — your messages travel from phone to phone.

If someone is out of range, the phones in between pass the message along. Two people who cannot reach each other directly can still talk through the devices around them.

WHAT YOU CAN DO
• Send text messages to a specific person, or broadcast to everyone in range
• Record and send voice messages
• Share photos, files and your location
• Send an SOS to everyone nearby
• See a live map of who is reachable and how far away they are
• Make voice calls over the mesh

BUILT FOR WHEN THERE IS NO SIGNAL
• Hiking, camping and mountains
• Festivals, stadiums and crowded places where the network is saturated
• Power cuts, earthquakes and other emergencies
• Flights, boats, remote work sites
• Anywhere mobile data is down or unavailable

PRIVACY BY DESIGN
• No servers. Nothing is uploaded anywhere, ever.
• No account, no phone number, no email required.
• No ads, no trackers, no analytics.
• Direct messages and calls are end-to-end encrypted (P-256 key exchange, AES-GCM). Phones that relay a message cannot read it.
• Your identity comes from a key pair generated on your own device, so nobody can send messages in your name.
• Messages sent to the "Everyone" room are public to the mesh on purpose — the app tells you this clearly on screen.

LANGUAGES
Azerbaijani, English, Russian and Turkish.

HOW IT WORKS
AzMesh uses Bluetooth and Wi-Fi Direct to find nearby phones running the app and builds a mesh network between them. The more people nearby who have AzMesh, the further your messages reach. Keep the app running so your phone can stay part of the mesh and pass messages along for others.

NOTE
AzMesh needs at least one other person nearby running the app. It is not a replacement for the mobile network — it is what you use when there isn't one.

Location permission is required by Android itself for Bluetooth scanning on older versions; your location is only shared when you choose to send it, and it never leaves the mesh.
Chat and share files with nearby phones. No internet, no server, no account.

What’s new

Faster file sending.

- When the person you are sending to is within direct range, files now transfer directly between the two phones instead of being split into small mesh packets. There is no size limit on this path, and large files go much faster.
- A progress bar shows how much of a large file has been sent or received.
- People further away, reachable only through other phones, still receive files the usual way.
