Here's the new mobile version of the legendary Assimil method for beginners and false beginners, with all the lessons in text form and audio recordings by native speakers. A new feature has been added, allowing you to record yourself and compare your pronunciation with that of native speakers.

With 30 to 40 minutes of practice a day, you'll make smooth progress. In just a few months, you'll reach a conversational level that will enable you to talk to friends and express yourself easily in everyday and professional situations.

The level reached corresponds to level B2 (independent user) of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) or level C1 (experienced user) of the "Perfectionnement" collection.

Not only do I find the UX poor, but there are a lot of bugs. Like I am supposed to be able to record myself saying the phrase and play it back, but playback doesn't even work. When describing the pronunciation, words in the table wrap to the next line so it looks like two words on two lines when it's really one word. Or sometimes the navigation goes to random places. The course material might be great, but the app is confusing and unintuitive. Content needs to be presented properly.

Excellent app to learn a language. 100% recommended. Reason for the missing star is because the audio is slightly cut off at the end of each sentence when using earphones/earplugs. Though when using my phone's speakers, the audio works fine.

There's something unique and special about Assimil language courses! They manage to combine solid instruction with charm and humor that's hard to match. This app by Holiwave manages to retain the character of the books. Recommended if you're serious about learning a language. I especially like the ability to record your voice and compare your pronunciation to the original. It helps you figure out where you can improve. Holiwave, please bring the advanced French course to this app!
