QR code scams rose sharply in 2026, and the trick is always the same: the code
hides where the link really goes. Scanly checks every link against 16 rules
before you open anything, and shows you a plain-English verdict.

• Spots look-alike domains — paypa1-secure.cyou is not paypal.com
• Catches punycode and mixed-script tricks that look identical on screen
• Follows bit.ly and t.co links to reveal the real destination
• Flags raw IP addresses, hidden credentials, and abused domain endings
• Checks the payloads other scanners ignore — a Wi-Fi code for a hidden or
fake-hotspot network, a contact card smuggling a link, a phone number billed
at a premium rate, a calendar invite carrying a link
