About this app

Gisify Field is the phone app for Gisify. It lets survey crews record what they find on site and get it back to the office without thinking about connectivity.

It is built for work that happens where the signal isn't.

WORKS WITHOUT A CONNECTION

Fill in forms, take photographs and capture locations with no network at all. Everything is stored on the phone. When a connection comes back — a site office, a car park, the drive home — queued submissions send on their own. You do not have to remember to press anything.

If a submission is waiting, the Outbox shows you exactly what is queued and why, including when your phone's battery settings are the reason it hasn't sent yet, and what to change.

THE FORMS YOUR ORGANISATION ALREADY USES

Forms come from your own Gisify server, so they match the surveys your team already runs. Fields can be short text, long text, whole numbers, decimals, yes/no, dates, single choice, multiple choice, photographs, file attachments, and locations.

Locations can be a single point, a line, or an area — captured from GPS or drawn on the map by hand, which matters when the thing you are recording is a fence line or a plot boundary rather than a spot you can stand on.

DRAFTS THAT SURVIVE

A half-finished survey stays a draft until you submit it. Close the app, take a call, let the battery die — your answers are still there. Drafts show what each one is holding, including photographs, so a phone running out of storage is something you can see coming.

SEE WHAT YOU SENT

Responses shows the surveys you have sent from this phone, grouped by form, and tells you which ones have reached the server and which are still on their way — so you can check your own work before you leave a site.

DESIGNED TO BE READ OUTSIDE

Text and controls meet WCAG AA contrast in both light and dark themes, and the layout holds together at large font sizes. That is not a compliance box — it is what makes a screen usable in direct sunlight with dusty hands.

PRIVACY

Gisify Field contains no analytics, no crash-reporting service, and no advertising identifier. Not a reduced set — none at all.

Before a photograph is uploaded, the app removes the GPS coordinates that cameras embed in JPEG image files, so a photo does not carry a location you did not deliberately capture.

Your data goes to your organisation's own Gisify server and its storage, over an encrypted connection. It is not shared with third parties.

SIGNING IN

You sign in against your organisation's Gisify server with the account they issue you. If your organisation runs Gisify in the cloud, the standard server is already set up; if they host it themselves, you enter the address they give you.

Gisify Field is a companion to a Gisify subscription and needs an account from your organisation to be useful.
