setem is a friend-managed matchmaking app. Instead of singles relying only on self-written profiles and rapid photo-based decisions, a trusted friend acts as their Dating Manager—creating a thoughtful profile, sharing firsthand context, and helping decide who they should meet.

MANAGE DATING FOR A FRIEND

With your friend’s permission, create and manage their dating profile. Show what makes them worth meeting through an honest Friend Review, personal stories, interests, photographs, and the qualities you have seen firsthand.

ADD THE CONTEXT ONLY A FRIEND CAN

Dating profiles do not always capture who someone is in real life. A Friend Review can share their green flags, personality, memorable quirks, and a true story that demonstrates their character.

Choose the friend you are representing and explore compatible people based on that friend’s preferences and selected dating location—even if you live somewhere else.

REVIEW PEOPLE DELIBERATELY

setem does not use swipe gestures. Discovery presents the Friend Review before the profile’s photographs. To make a decision, open the complete profile and review the person’s story, interests, photos, and other context before choosing whether to Set Them Up or Pass.

SET THEM UP

When Dating Managers on both sides believe their friends should meet, a conversation opens for the represented profiles. The managers can help make a thoughtful introduction and move a promising setup forward.

WANT SOMEONE TO HELP WITH YOUR PROFILE?

You can create a profile for yourself, but you must invite a trusted friend to submit a Friend Review and Friend Story. You review and approve their contribution before your completed profile becomes active.

PERMISSION AND SAFETY MATTER

Only create a friend-managed profile with that person’s informed permission. Friend Reviews provide personal context, but they are not identity verification, background checks, or guarantees of someone’s conduct.

Users can remove individual photos, delete a managed profile, report concerns, or permanently delete their account and associated data. Protect personal information, use good judgment, and meet in a public place.
