INDICATOR LIGHT. stands for Animal Risk Report.
The application is able to both warn the driver when he is near areas with a high risk of crossing wild animals and to report an accident with wildlife to the competent provincial body. At the moment the areas concern the province of Cuneo and the Metropolitan City of Turin, but extension to other provinces is expected.
The application can be activated and deactivated at any time and is independent of the navigation system used.
The application uses a list of zones and times with the greatest risk of collision that emerged from a research project involving the University of Eastern Piedmont and the Province of Cuneo.
The application accesses the user's location in the background, even when the app is closed, in order to monitor and detect entry and exit from areas that have been identified as potentially dangerous for animal crossings wild.
The application does not store any information on the location of the device, but it is only used to detect the current position.
At any time, the user can stop location tracking by exiting the app using the appropriate button.
