Sort Lab turns Math Empowered's card sorts into a digital routine. Students match cards that show the same mathematics in different ways, then defend their groupings out loud.

HOW IT WORKS
- Pick a grade and a sort
- Students drag cards into groups that belong together
- Start with a warm-up, play as teams, and talk through the reasoning behind each group

WHY CARD SORTS
A good sort cannot be solved by guessing or by spotting a repeated number. The fastest way to finish is to do the math. That makes sorts a quick, powerful routine for noticing structure, comparing representations and building mathematical language.
