About this app

Suggester is a tool to assist in the creation of songs and chord progressions. This app will help you find chords that work together. It is efficient and fun; use it to build musical phrases that will carry emotion through tension and release.

Select chords for their harmonic function. The app makes full use of the roman numeral notation.

Simply touch a chord to hear how it sound like. Press the play button to hear the chord progression sequentially and adjust the playback speed.

You can work either forward or backward:

FORWARD - Pick a scale, then build your song from the chords that the app suggests. That’s the quickest way to assemble chords that are compatible.

BACKWARD - From the catalog, pick a set of chords that you like. The app will tell you what scales it matches with. After you have selected the scale you want to use, the app can tell you what chords will fit in with the ones you entered before. That is extremely useful in jam sessions!

Pick chords from our huge catalog.

To spice things up, you can borrow chords from parallel scales.

Explore new territories by using modulation.

Browse the classic chord progressions to find inspiration.

Use Drag and Drop to reorder chords. Hold your finger on an item for a second to start the drag operation. On a tablet, you can also drag chords directly from the suggestions to anywhere in your progression.

Swipe a chord from right to left to delete it.

Tap the note button on the left to change the duration of a chord.

Pretty much worthless. The free version only gives you a list of chords by key. You can create a progression, but you can't get it to play it the way you want to. It gives you duration settings.so you can say how long the chord should be heard. But if you set it for 4 beats it only plays it on the first beat. You can set it to play on every beat with a strum pattern. Also the only instrument sound is keyboard. A waste of time. Deleted.

The free version has a great set of features for free and that will be sufficient for many people. You can go a long way with only this. However, if you want the advanced features please buy the full version. It features more instruments, more scales, more chord types, and it includes MIDI connectivity.

If you're in another app too long it erases your document. If you save your document and reopen it it erases the document. What's the point? Also has about a 20 second delay between hitting the play button and the chords playing. This is my review of the $13 paid version, didn't leave a review there because I already refunded it. This app works great on my iPad, not at all on Android.

There used to be a problem with saving document when running some Android versions. This issue has now been fixed.

This is the app i wanted, however after i realized the lite version of this app only has 1 available scale, i checked the full version and saw the absurd price which is expensive (15 euro)! I say it's expensive because there are free online tools that can be opened perfectly in the mobile browser, and on top of that they are full of features this app never had by a wide margin. Thanks but no thanks. I'll use the online tool instead.
