Learn math with outstanding textbooks and AI grading of handwritten solutions. Professor Euler supports serious self-study for adults, from algebra to university mathematics. Write with a stylus on your tablet. Serious study, not casual puzzle play. Beginners are welcome.
Explore 50 textbooks and course resources across six study paths:
- Algebra, geometry, trigonometry and precalculus.
- Calculus, linear algebra, proofs, discrete mathematics, number theory and abstract algebra.
- Real and complex analysis, topology, measure and integration, and functional analysis.
- Ordinary and partial differential equations, numerical methods and optimization.
- Probability, statistics, statistical inference and stochastic processes.
- The mathematics of machine learning and deep learning.
English-language study paths are complemented by German university courses and practice exams.
Like Leonhard Euler, the app's creator David Schmid is Swiss. He built Professor Euler around how he wants to study: mathematics made accessible without watering it down. Keep the depth, the reasoning and the challenge. Make studying as comfortable as possible.
We aim to offer the best mathematics books and courses we can legally share in a free, non-commercial app. Selection is guided by mathematical depth, clear explanations and substantial exercises, while respecting each work's license and permissions. You study the authors' mathematical content, with its definitions, arguments and problems intact.
The collection includes:
- OpenStax's three-volume Calculus, from derivatives and integrals to multivariable calculus.
- Richard Hammack's Book of Proof, an introduction to mathematical reasoning and proof.
- Sheldon Axler's Linear Algebra Done Right, for a deeper understanding of vector spaces and linear maps.
- Axler's Measure, Integration & Real Analysis, reaching into graduate-level mathematics.
- Simon J. D. Prince's Understanding Deep Learning, connecting mathematical foundations with modern neural networks.
Your ambition can be modest or demanding. Return to a topic you once struggled with, prepare for further study, or follow an idea simply because it fascinates you. Choose your starting point and how far you want to go.
Designed around a large tablet and stylus, Professor Euler keeps the book in view while you develop your own handwritten reasoning. Work through a calculation, build a proof or sketch a diagram with room to think. The aim is to reduce interruptions and make the tools recede, so you can concentrate on learning and stay in the flow.
AI grading is central to Professor Euler. It offers a separate assessment of your handwritten solutions and step-by-step reasoning. When assessing ourselves, it is easy to overlook a missing step or be too generous with a familiar answer. Feedback can reveal gaps, challenge a conclusion and help you decide what to revisit. Check your work in the same workspace, keep the problem in mind and continue learning without copying your solution into another app.
For deeper questions, the fictional Professor Euler offers patient, curious conversation inspired by the Swiss mathematician Leonhard Euler. The persona is an imaginative tribute, not a portrayal of the historical man.
For adults aged 18+. A 10-inch or larger Android tablet and compatible stylus are recommended. The offline library needs several GB of storage; use Wi-Fi for installation.
Free and non-commercial, with no advertising or app subscription. Reading and handwriting work offline. Set up AI grading with your own provider API key and internet; charges and eligibility rules apply. Selected work and context go to your chosen provider. AI can make mistakes; check its reasoning.
