About this app

Papercase keeps your important documents on your phone: passport, driver's licence, health and insurance cards, residence permits and PDFs. Everything is encrypted and locked behind your fingerprint or device PIN.

No accounts, no servers, no tracking. Your documents never leave your devices unless you send them.

LOCKER
• Store documents with front and back photos, visas and extra pages, or add PDFs.
• Encrypted with a key held in your phone's secure hardware. The locker opens only after you unlock with your fingerprint or PIN, and locks again when you leave.
• Organise documents into folders, including folders inside folders. Give each folder its own icon or a photo, for example one for each person in your family.
• Crop photos to just the document: drag the corners and the page is straightened, even if it was photographed at an angle.
• Pinch to zoom on photos and on every page of a PDF.
• Give any document its own password for an extra layer.
• Screenshots are blocked, and the locker is hidden in the recent apps screen.
• Location, timestamps and camera details are removed from photos when you add them.
• Copy a document number with one tap, and have the clipboard wiped automatically.
• Get reminded before documents expire. You choose how early for each one, and Papercase keeps reminding you after expiry until you update it.

MOVE DOCUMENTS BETWEEN YOUR DEVICES
• Show a QR code on one phone and scan it on the other. Documents are sent directly over your local Wi-Fi, encrypted with a key that only exists in the QR code.
• The sending phone shows which device is asking and must approve with fingerprint or PIN.
• New documents are added, edits keep the newest version, and deletions carry over.

BACK UP TO A FILE
• Export your locker as a standard KeePass (.kdbx) file protected with a one-time token.
• Backups also open in KeePassXC or KeePassDX, so your data is never locked into this app.
• Turn on automatic daily or weekly backups to a folder you choose, protected with your own backup password.

PASSPHRASE
• Optionally store a long master passphrase (for example for a password manager) under your fingerprint, and copy it with one tap from the app or a Quick Settings tile. The clipboard is cleared after a timeout you choose.

LOOK AND FEEL
• Light or dark theme, or follow your phone.
• A short introduction the first time you open the app.
