Tuner for guitar, bass, ukulele, violin, viola, cello, with sweetened tunings.

Sweetened tunings
A guitar tuned to exact mathematical pitch does not sound in tune.
String thickness, fret spacing and the pressure of the hand pull real
notes away from the theory. A sweetened tuning offsets each string by a
few cents to correct it.
The offsets are per string: a low E and a high E need different ones.
The tuner applies them to any note it recognises and prints what it
applied, for example "E2 -12 cents".
Included: sweetened guitar sets, offsets for curved-fret necks, stretch
tunings, the usual alternates from Drop D to seven-string sets, bass
sets of four to six strings, and ukulele, violin, viola, cello and double bass in
equal temperament or pure intervals.
Your own tunings
Set the number of strings, the note each one targets and its offset in
cents. Saved tunings sit beside the built-in ones.
Share one as a QR code that another copy of the app scans directly,
phone to phone, with no server. Tunings are plain text files
(.sweetener) and can be edited by hand.
Reference pitch
Adjustable from 415 to 466 Hz, with a preview tone. Every display shows
the reference in use.
Three displays
Vintage needle dial, LED meter, strobe. Swipe to change. Turned
sideways, the display fills the screen.
Metronome
Tap the tempo or type it. 2/4, 3/4, 4/4, 5/4 and 6/8, with the accents
each implies. A battery mode blanks the screen to the tempo and one dot
on the beat.
Permissions
Microphone, to hear the instrument. Camera, only when scanning a tuning
QR code. Nothing else: the app holds no internet permission, so nothing
can leave the phone. No ads, no account, no analytics.
