IRIS helps you understand app behavior by combining permission insights, tracker/SDK visibility, data usage information, and network activity signals in one clear interface. Instead of guessing which apps are unusually active, you get structured facts you can review at your own pace.

• **App Monitoring Dashboard**
Get a side-by-side overview of installed apps with activity indicators and quick comparisons.

• **Activity Score**
IRIS summarizes multiple signals — such as tracker presence, sensitive permissions, and recent activity — into an easy review score so you can prioritize where to look first.

• **Permission Analysis**
See which permissions installed apps have been granted, including access related to location, camera, microphone, contacts, telephony, and other system areas.

• **SDK / Tracker Visibility**
Identify known embedded third-party SDKs and tracking components using maintained reference datasets and visual indicators.

• **Network & Data Usage Insights**
Review available per-app upload and download statistics over recent periods to identify unusual traffic, spikes, and consistently high background data usage.

### IRIS Pro – Action Center

IRIS Pro expands the app with additional monitoring and analysis tools:

• **Network Activity Alerts**
Create rules to detect unusual background data behavior.

• **Permission Watch**
Track relevant permission changes and get notified when app permissions change.

• **Network Lens**
Observe local IPv4 DNS request metadata and network endpoints while Network Lens is active. Network Lens uses Android's VpnService API to create a local VPN interface required for this on-device network analysis. It does not provide a traditional VPN connection, does not route traffic through a remote VPN server, and does not change your public IP address or location. Network Lens currently does not identify which individual app originated a DNS request and does not capture every network connection.

Generate periodic summaries of important alerts and detected changes.

### Important note

IRIS provides technical transparency, not a one-tap "safe/unsafe" verdict. High activity, extensive permissions, or third-party SDKs can be legitimate depending on the type of app. Messaging, navigation, backup, streaming, and similar services may naturally generate significant background activity.

IRIS is designed to help you investigate these signals in context, compare behavior over time, and make informed decisions.
