Good content, bad service. I've tried premium app on Android and premium on Roku (you have to pick one or pay for each and every device you want to watch it on - no cross-platform access). Besides that big downside, the apps are a horribly disorganized and jumbled mess. Again, too bad, there some good content there, but all the downsides don't make it worth paying for. Hoping someone competes with them soon.

Not really impressed with this. Once a video is started, it can't be controlled. You either wait for it to finish or you shut the app down and open it back up. Navigation in the app is also puzzlingly bad. Content is good but it skews toward a handful of areas. If you're looking for climbing, you can probably burn through everything within the free trial period. It's amazing that a magazine as good as Outside is would have such rickety apps.

UX is really wonky. No obvious way to have playback controls during content playback. After signing up for Outside+ had to do some hoop jumping to figure out how to access/unlock content. The content itself is great and high quality. The portal to that content: the app, is sub par and below modern app standards. Not asking for anything fancy: just clean log in, navigation, see what's playing, pause, rewind, all in a UX obvious way.
