About this game

Basic rules: A round of the football phrase quiz is played by 2 to 4 people. As soon as you click "START," the game begins, and the first phrase starter is played. In any order, everyone should then name exactly one phrase completion that is as close as possible to the one being searched for. This can be achieved with football TV knowledge and, of course, a bit of luck, as other completions are often quite plausible. Afterward, the phrase is revealed by clicking "Next." The person whose phrase completion is closest to the answer being sought (this is decided by everyone together) receives a point. If the group decides that several people's completions are equally close, the point goes to the person who first fully states their completion. If this is also unclear, the point is shared equally among several people. Clicking "Next" starts the next phrase. The first person to reach 7 points wins and ends the game.

Fine Rules:

- If a person gives multiple phrase completions, the first one given always counts.

- People who give their phrase completion later may pick up on and clarify completions already heard from other players.

- Passing is allowed. If everyone passes, everyone receives a point.

- If several people reach 7 points simultaneously, they share the round win.

- Phrase completions may be corrected as long as they are not yet complete. Example: In the full version, there's the phrase starter: "Three goals in a row in one half, that's a…". If someone says, "…a hat… uh… a perfect hat trick.", then the concluding correction counts as one phrase completion. However, if someone says, "…a hat trick. No, …a perfect hat trick.", then these are two complete completions, and only the first one ("…a hat trick") counts for that person. Another person could then say the uncounted completion ("…a perfect hat trick") and score the point.

- As an alternative, instead of the usual group decisions, a referee can be appointed before the start of a round to award the points as strictly as possible.

- The idea is that everyone listens to the phrase starters first and only reads them later for better understanding. To ensure this process, the visibility of the phrase text in the upper right corner can be turned off.

- As soon as a phrase starter begins, a completion can be said. This can lead to the phrase beginning no longer being understood by everyone. Therefore, the phrase beginning can be played repeatedly by clicking the circular arrow in the upper left corner.

The Expert Round:

This variant is intended for people who have already heard all 200 phrases in the full version. Before an Expert Round, all phrases are shuffled by clicking "Shuffle" on the start screen. The goal is then to remember the phrases as well as possible and to be as fast as possible. Preparing specifically for an Expert Round and practicing privately is expressly permitted. Otherwise, the rules are identical to a normal round.
