With the VGN eTariff egon, you only pay for what you actually travel – with a daily base fare, per-kilometer billing, and three revenue-based discount levels. Simply check in to start your journey and check out at the end.

Ratings and reviews

The app's route planner is incredibly frustrating for families and tourists. If you select a route, there is no shopping cart to buy an adult and child ticket together. Tapping a ticket option forces an instant single checkout, wiping out your route selection. You have to make two completely separate purchases back-to-back just to travel with a child. Terrible user experience for holiday makers.

The old Egon app didn't charge me €10 for each trip only to reimburse the difference later. Why could the old app charge me exactly how much I owed but the new app cannot? The old Egon app also didn't need working Bluetooth to determine my location. Even tge bike-sharing app doesn't charge me €10 each time.

The App keeps logging me out at random times. Just today, there was a ticket control in my train. When I opened the app, the ticket menu said that my ticket was invalid and that I had to login again. Luckily, the controller gave me the four minutes i needed but he was ready to give me a ticket (70€) I used the app two days ago and it was working fine. I always make sure to click "remember me" when logging in but that seems to do absolutely nothing. everything else is fine
