D-Schutz is a PDF reader with real, on-device AI: no accounts, no ads, no tracking, no nonsense.

Most "AI" apps quietly ship your documents to someone else's server. D-Schutz doesn't. After the AI model's one-time download, every question you ask, every summary you generate, and every answer you get happens entirely on your phone. Your PDFs are never uploaded anywhere to be processed. There's nothing to sign up for and nothing watching you move between apps.

Old-school, on purpose: you install it, you use it. No account wall, no ad network, no cross-app tracking, no dark patterns nudging you toward a subscription you didn't ask for.

WHAT IT DOES
Import any PDF and read it in a clean, full-screen viewer with smooth zoom and page navigation. When you need the gist fast, ask D-Schutz a question about the current page or the whole document, or get a summary, even for documents far longer than the AI model can normally handle, thanks to on-device retrieval (RAG) and map-reduce summarization that covers the entire file.

THE FINE PRINT WE WON'T HIDE
AI answers and summaries are generated by a language model and are advisory: they can be inaccurate. Always check anything important against the original document.

Everything runs locally:
- The AI models (Gemma plus a small Gecko embedding model) download once, then run entirely on-device.
- No document text, question, or answer is ever sent to a server to generate a response.
- The internet is used only to download those models and app updates.

Want proof it's private? Turn on airplane mode. Once the AI model is downloaded, D-Schutz keeps working with zero connection, read, ask questions, and summarize with Wi-Fi and data switched off. If it still answers with the network off, nothing is being sent anywhere.

D-Schutz doesn't require an account, doesn't show ads, and doesn't track you across apps or websites. Read your PDFs. Ask your questions. Nothing leaves your phone.

What’s new

D-Schutz no longer shows raw "" text before some AI answers. That internal reasoning step is now hidden, so you see only the finished answer. Your documents and questions still never leave your phone.
