I started Fika after finding my biological mother in Vietnam through a Facebook post that went viral. Without technology and thousands of kind-hearted strangers, that never would have happened. But our relationship only really began the moment we met in person. That's the whole idea behind Fika: use technology where it's needed, and then get out there and actually meet.

On Fika, every member is verified by our team. So you're not just safe here, you're surrounded by people who are genuinely here to meet. No lurkers, no time-wasters, or ghosters.

There's no swiping, no likes, no endless chatting, no profiles. Our chat only opens 12 hours before your meeting — just enough to sort out the details. Everything else, we handle.

Here's how it works:
1. Take our compatibility test — 15 minutes, once. We get to know your values, your availability, and what you're looking for.
2. Pay the membership fee and start receiving introductions — for friendship, romance, or both. Only the people we introduce you to can see you. When we think you two should meet, we show you a dynamic Story explaining exactly why. Think of Fika as a best friend who knows you both — and finally got you in the same room.
3, When you both say yes, we arrange everything. We already know your schedule and what you enjoy — so the moment you're both in, we set up your fika at one of our verified Fika Spots. You just show up.

The word "fika" is Swedish — it means sitting down with someone for a real conversation, usually over coffee. Presence. Intention. The good stuff.

I like the idea of the app, but the process is incredibly slow. You get one suggestion at a time, and if you confirm, the other part hopefully replies within a few days. If that person declines, it can take several weeks before you get the next suggestion. Since January I've been on two dates, and a handful that didnt lead to a date - around ten suggestions in five months. Support is helpful and very quick to reply, though!

Tokens expire and are magically used on nothing. Also very long "videos" when you match for no good reason.

They completely ignored my criteria and gave me 3 random matches. Then I didn't get any more matches. It's been several months now, no matches. Obviously there are no other users. I don't get what the point is with this app and now they've changed it so it's pay to use. Do you really think I'd PAY for this? Would anyone? It's borderline scam.
