Meme Caption Creator is an offline tool for top-and-bottom meme captions. Pick a layout, put your line on a photo or a blank stage, set the stroke, and export the sizes you need. Projects stay on this phone. This version has no ads, no in-app purchases, and no account.
How a meme gets made
1. Choose one of 18 original caption layouts.
2. Name the project. Start from a blank stage, or import a photo with the system photo picker.
3. Type the top caption, the bottom caption, or both. Set size, alignment, spacing, fill, and outline.
4. Preview, select one or more ratios, and save a separate PNG for each ratio.
Layouts
Classic Top/Bottom places the photo between two caption bars. Top Only and Bottom Only keep a single bar. Thick Bars fits short, loud lines. Slim Caption keeps the photo large. Blank Stage puts stroked text on a full-bleed photo with no bars. Center Punch is one centered line.
Two-panel Split, Stacked Pair, Wide Top Panel, and Reaction Split cover side-by-side jokes, before-and-after stacks, headlines, and a setup with two punchlines. Three-panel Hero, Three Stack, and Triptych Equal cover three-beat jokes, lists, and rankings. Wide Banner, Story Banner, Square Stamp, and Corner Stamp cover titles, tall stories, badges, and corner labels.
Heart a layout to keep it in Favorites.
Captions
Top and bottom text have their own editors. Either line can be empty. Turn on all caps. Align left, center, or right. Change font size, letter spacing, and line spacing. Set fill color, stroke color, stroke width, and an optional shadow.
Four styles are built in: Impact-style, Bold Sans, Condensed, and Heavy Caps. Impact-style text uses Oswald. The other faces are Bebas Neue and IBM Plex Sans. They are open-source fonts under the SIL Open Font License. The proprietary Impact font is not bundled. Save the current stroke, font, and colors as a named preset and reuse it on a later meme.
Stage, stickers, and layers
Replace the photo from the editor, or stay on the blank dark stage. Stickers are decorations above the caption, not a sticker-pack export. A meme holds up to eight stickers, and the active sticker can be scaled. The layer list shows Image, Caption, and Sticker. Show, hide, or reorder a layer. Undo and redo are in the editor.
Canvas and export
Ratios are 1:1, 4:5, 9:16, 16:9, and a custom width and height in pixels. Select several ratios in one export. Long-edge options are 1080, 1440, and 2160 pixels. Each ratio is saved as its own PNG through the system folder picker. The finished screen lists the file count and file names. Share files opens the system share sheet.
Export preferences remember a default set of ratios and a default long edge.
Projects on this phone
Home shows the caption stage, layout shortcuts, and recent memes. Project history can open, rename, duplicate, or delete a project. Delete removes it from this phone only. The gallery photo stays. Unsaved edits prompt you to save or discard before you leave.
Themes are Warm paper and Night stage. Backup writes a JSON file of the layout, captions, stroke, and crop. Photos stay on the device. Clear meme data deletes projects and settings on this phone and cannot be undone.
Privacy
No sign-in and no cloud sync. The app does not declare an internet permission and does not upload memes. A photo enters the editor only after you pick it in the system photo picker. PNGs go only to a folder you choose. You are responsible for imported photos and for images you share. Do not harass anyone or infringe copyright. The app includes no celebrity photos, film stills, or other copyrighted meme templates.
Limits of this version
It captions, strokes, and exports. It does not edit video, generate jokes in the cloud, or publish to a gallery. There is no template shop, paid font pack, or subscription.
Meme Caption Creator is for anyone who wants a classic top-and-bottom caption on a picture they already have, saved as a PNG in a folder they choose.
