About this app

The Memory-Map app turns your phone or tablet into a full-featured Outdoor GPS or Marine Chart Plotter, and allows you to navigate with USGS Topo maps, NOAA Marine charts, and may other specialist maps, even without a wireless internet signal.

Maps are downloaded on-the-fly and can be pre-loaded so that they can be used offline. Once the app and maps are loaded to the phone or tablet, cellular network coverage or internet connection is not required for real time GPS navigation.

The Memory-Map app can be used as a standalone GPS navigator, but it can also be used in conjunction with the Windows PC or Mac app (free download) for planning, printing and loading up maps, waypoints and routes to the phone/tablet.

Memory-Map includes free access to 1:250,000 scale topographic maps and many other free maps around the world. More detailed maps are available for download and purchase with a free try-before-you-buy, time-limited demo option. Available maps include Ordnance Survey, Hema, USGS quads, NOAA, British Admiralty, and DeLorme. Maps can be used on your PC as well as your phone and tablet. The Cloud Sync feature allows you to keep the overlay data consistent on all your devices.

was a great app I thought. I paid the 9.99 but it constantly forgets that, glitches and asks for more money. I thought it would give me 12 months for 10 bucks of unlimited nautical charts, I use it to sail. They corresponded with email. kept telling me go to old edition. so I did 4 times. it won't let me access the 2018 charts I just paid 9.99 for a week or two ago. But in the email correspondence they fixed everything and now it's working again!!!

I can see you purchased a topo map, not marine charts. I have exchanged it for the NOAA Marine Charts 2019.

Access to maps excellent. Alot of App could be more intuitive, perhaps too much assumed knowledge. I am ok with computers generally, spreadsheets, PP, etc but am not a geocaching enthusiast. Some terminology used in App, ports, import/export, overlays are not standard terms used elsewhere

I used MM for years and just put up with all the bugs – maps needing reactivation, tracks dropping, displays dropping for no reason, awkward navigation display. It worked, but was a struggle at times. It looks as if they stopped updating it long ago. This month I discovered Alpinequest - and what a difference. Beautiful smooth display, reliable, and free installed maps. It can even read my old self scanned qct maps, although not the encrypted qc3 maps from OS. MM is unreliable, out of date, and clunky to use. I would never go back to it now except to use qc3 maps if necessary.
