Meret is a creative vault for musicians. When an idea strikes, you start recording in a moment and keep playing. Later, when the moment has passed, you organize, rediscover, and evolve what you caught. Capture now. Process later.

Most recordings become anonymous files named by a timestamp, lost in a pile you never open again. Meret is built so a session stays useful months or years later, easy to browse, search, and understand.

CAPTURE WITHOUT FRICTION
Hit record without looking and keep playing, singing, or humming. No forms, no setup, no decisions on the path to capture. The whole screen is the button, so you can start and then ignore the phone.

ORGANIZE WHEN YOU ARE READY
Recording and review are separate on purpose. Give a session a title, a mood, an instrument, and browse your library by time, each session with its own waveform. Reflection never competes with inspiration.

KEEP THE MOMENTS THAT MATTER
A long improvisation can hold many ideas. Loop a section, mark a range, and lift it out as an idea you can return to and connect with others across sessions.

NEVER RISK YOUR ORIGINALS
Your recordings are irreplaceable creative work. Meret is non-destructive by design. It never silently trims, degrades, or deletes an original. Edits and exports create new files and leave the source untouched.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
Everything stays on your device. Meret has no accounts, no ads, no analytics, and no internet permission at all, so nothing it holds can leave your phone unless you choose to share or export it.

WORKS OFFLINE
Capture, save, playback, review, and search all work with no connection. Nothing sits between inspiration and a safely saved recording.

THE NAME
In ancient Egypt, Meret was the goddess of music and song, the one who brought things into their proper order through sound. Meret is drawn the same way: capture the moment cleanly, then bring it into order, so none of your ideas are lost.

Meret is made by an independent musician and designer, built from a real problem. Years of session recordings scattered across drives and phones, impossible to search. This is an early release, focused on getting capture and organization right first.
