MINERVA TAK is an Android application for tactical coordination of outdoor teams: airsoft, paintball, hiking, civil protection training, LARP events, prosumer training and field operations.

━━━ ACCESSIBILITY SERVICE (Hardware PTT) ━━━

MINERVA TAK uses the Android Accessibility Service in a limited, disclosed way to enable the physical Volume Down key as a Push-to-Talk (PTT) trigger when the screen is off or locked.

What the service does:
• Detects ONLY presses of the Volume Down key (KEYCODE_VOLUME_DOWN)
• Starts PTT transmission on press, stops on release
• Operates with screen off (operationally required for tactical voice comms)

What the service does NOT do:
• Does not read screen content
• Does not capture other keys or user input
• Does not access data from other apps
• Does not collect, log or transmit any personal data
• Does not modify system settings

Why it is needed: no alternative Android API can detect hardware key presses when the screen is locked. The Accessibility Service is the only technically available path for a screen-off physical PTT button.

Opt-in and control: the service is strictly optional. The user must manually enable it in Settings → Accessibility → MINERVA TAK, and can disable it any time. PTT remains usable without the service via the on-screen button or a compatible Bluetooth microphone.

MINERVA TAK does NOT use the IsAccessibilityTool flag (not an accessibility app for disabled users).

━━━ EARLY ACCESS ━━━

MINERVA TAK is distributed free of charge in Early Access until November 30, 2026. At the end of the period the service will evolve: the terms and conditions of the next version will be communicated via email to registered users with reasonable advance notice.

• Internet connection for registration and cloud features
• Bluetooth (optional) for Meshtastic integration
• Active GPS for position sharing
