Bench Planner is a day planner and notebook that keeps everything on your phone. Plan today, the week and the month, keep notes where they belong, and find anything again with one search.
Four views
- Today: one date at a time, with arrows, a date picker and a quick way back to today.
- This Week: the seven days starting today.
- Calendar: a month grid that marks days with open tasks and days where everything is finished. Tap a day to open it.
- Notes: every note, pinned ones first, the scratch pad and search.
Tasks
- Add a task to any date, once or repeating every day, every week or every month.
- A monthly task set on the 29th, 30th or 31st lands on the last day of shorter months, so it still comes round twelve times a year.
- Give a task an optional time and Bench Planner sends a reminder to your phone when it comes due, even with the app closed.
- Move a task on to the next day in one press. For a repeating task, only that day's copy moves and the series stays as it was.
- Finish everything still open on a date in one press, or reopen everything finished on it. One Undo puts every task back as it was.
- Unfinished tasks from earlier days wait on today's sheet.
- Every delete comes with an Undo.
Notes
- Write notes for a day, a week, a month, or as general notes. Each note shows where it lives.
- Pin the notes you need most into a section of their own.
- Long notes fold down to their title until you open them.
- Lock a note against accidental edits and deletes, with an optional passcode. The app stores only a hash of the passcode on your phone, never the passcode itself. This is a guard against mistakes, not encryption: the note text stays readable in the app's storage and in backups. If you forget the passcode, you can remove the lock from inside the app.
- A scratch pad for numbers, part counts and quick lists that saves as you type.
Search
- One search box covers notes, the scratch pad and tasks, finished or not.
- Tap a task result to open its day.
On-device backup
- Copy backup puts everything (tasks, notes, the scratch pad and your look settings) on the clipboard as text, so you can keep it wherever you choose.
- Restore with Paste a backup or Import a file.
- Every import asks first. Merge adds what is new and keeps what is already here. Where the same note was changed in both copies, the newer version is kept.
- Settings shows when you last made a backup.
Nine looks
- Throttle: shop floor steel plate and heavy stencil type, with sparks when you tick a task.
- Mutilator: a horror and action look with a skull, a cleaver, a stylised blood splatter tick effect and campy action movie wording. It is only on if you choose it.
- Blueprint: a drafting sheet with engineering lettering and a title block, where a finished task is redlined and stamped approved.
- Arcade: an arcade cabinet with neon accents and scan lines, and a score that pops when you tick a task.
- Grid: a ruled technical sheet crossed with a monitor, in a monospace face, where a finished task snaps to the grid.
- Barracks: a field kit look in olive and canvas with stencil lettering and a cleared stamp.
- Forge: the heat treat bay in ember and riveted plate, with a hammer blow and falling cinders.
- Spindle: the CNC cell in machine grey and coolant, throwing chip curls as the readout settles to zero.
- Hangar: the flight line in bare metal and insignia blue, where the chocks come out and a finished task is stamped serviceable.
Every look has its own colour schemes, 42 in all, its own wording and its own tick effect. Day and night mode follows your phone until you pick one. Switching looks keeps every task and note.
This closed-test build includes all nine launch looks.
