METAR - Pocket turns aviation weather reports into plain language. Enter an ICAO code and get the station's METAR and TAF, decoded group by group.
FULL DECODING
Wind, visibility, present weather, clouds, temperature, dew point, QNH, trend: every element of the message is explained, without jargon. The raw report stays visible alongside, for those who prefer reading it directly.
TAF BY PERIOD
Forecasts are split by validity period, with a simplified reading of the next six and twelve hours.
WORKS OFFLINE
The last report you viewed stays available without a network connection, with its cache time clearly shown: you always know whether you are reading fresh or old data.
REFERENCE TABLES
A reference page gathers the codes used in METAR and TAF reports: cloud cover, cloud types, intensity, descriptors, weather phenomena, TAF groups. Useful to learn, useful to double-check.

Faster loading, and a backup source.
- When the weather service answered slowly, the app could wait a long time before showing anything. It now starts its second attempt after 1.5 s instead of waiting for the first one to time out.
- New backup source: if AviationWeather stops answering altogether, the app queries the NOAA text server instead.
- A report from that backup source is refused if it is too old to be current, rather than displayed as if it were fresh.
