About this app

Notice: Digital Voice app is only publicly available for Product Development trials. TalkTalk will notify eligible customers once this product has become fully available.

TalkTalk Digital Voice lets TalkTalk customers using ultrafast broadband use their mobile phone to make and receive calls with their TalkTalk landline number.

Before the app can be used your TalkTalk account must be activated for use with the app. Please see your email from TalkTalk that describes how you can do this.

All calls will be charged at the same rates as on the TalkTalk service on your TalkTalk account. Call plans such as Unlimited UK Calls or International Max will be treated the same as on the phone offering potentially free voice calls (see details on the tariffs that relate to your TalkTalk call plan). Calls made with the app will use data on your mobile, so mobile data rates will apply if used on a mobile network, but Wi-Fi can also be used.

TalkTalk voice services such as voicemail and CallSafe will work in the same way on the app as on a phone connect to TalkTalk Digital Voice.

The app can be downloaded on up to five mobile phones and settings that control ringing and notifications can be accessed through the app on each device.

This app is not recommended for emergency call access. In the event that an emergency number (e.g. 999) is dialled, the app will automatically switch to the standard call handling service on your mobile handset, which will require mobile network coverage.

It works very well but keeps crashing. It does the job and can speak using my landline or receive calls but the MAJOR problem is that it keeps crashing in the background which is a majot battery drain to the phone. I had to disable it and only enable it when I need to make a landline call which really defies the it's purpose.

After failing to find where to activate the app on my TT account I googled and it seemed to say that you needed an eero router to he able to do this. Eero didn't work for me so I've got a normal router that will take fibre optic. Looks like app won't work on this tho why I don't know.

A lot of people are complaining that they cannot get past the login page. I think that may be because the password needs to be between and 20 characters including lower case, upper case, numbers and most likely a special character. Once i added a * at the end of my password it got accepted. I wish they had made told me that when asking for a password.
