🎮 About This Game
Step into the vibrant world of "Echoes of Egypt," an innovative action-indie-arcade game that brings historical art to life. This game transforms traditional 2D gameplay into an immersive 3D experience.
Hathor is an ancient Egyptian goddess of music, joy, and motherhood, but also of divine wrath when provoked. You've entered her domain uninvited. The goddess appears in both her iconic cow-headed form and her human form, tracking your progress through the cube. She's been watching since you arrived, and she's waiting at the end to settle the score.
Every surface in Hathor's Cube responds to the beat. Hieroglyphs dance. Obstacles pulse. The soundtrack blends 1980s synths with Middle Eastern instruments, and it drives everything you see and everything trying to kill you.
Building this game has meant inventing new approaches in many domains: music interaction systems and audio middleware, 2D-to-3D middleware for multi-surface gameplay, and most of all shader & rendering techniques to perfect the Glyph Engine "Liquid Stone" look. These various aspects of research & development are taking multiple years to complete to the standard of the original vision.
Once the graphical systems are in place, multiple editions will be created with different stories and styles of gameplay. We are involved with academic Egyptologists on a regular basis, and will continue to include interesting and accurate details in future updates.
We expect to launch about two major updates during 2026, and several minor updates.
At the end of 2025, we released the Hathor's Cube edition as part of this early access game. The current version is fully playable with 12 unique sections that test a variety of skills through action and puzzle challenges, backed by a distinctive soundtrack. We're continuing to polish this foundation, focusing on graphical fidelity and gameplay depth. It is a 10-30 minute experience for those who can successfully complete the challenges.
