About this app

Coinoscope is a powerful coin identifier, coin scanner, and coin value checker for your phone. Snap a photo of a coin to find matching coins, discover key details, and estimate its market value.

IDENTIFY COINS BY PHOTO
Point your camera at a coin and Coinoscope’s visual search finds matching coins in seconds. No need to know the country, year, or denomination — the coin scanner works from the image alone. Coin identification is free and unlimited.

CHECK COIN VALUE
Wondering what your coin may be worth? Get a market value estimate based on listings and pricing data from eBay, Coinoscope Market, and other online sources. Useful for checking old coins, foreign coins, and inherited collections before you buy or sell.

ADVANCED IMAGE ANALYSIS
Need more information about a coin? Advanced Image Analysis examines your coin photo and provides a detailed description, identification information, and estimated value.

BUILD YOUR COLLECTION
Save identified coins to My Collection and keep your collection organized in one place. Coinoscope Pro also lets you back up your collection to the cloud and access it across devices.

EXPLORE COINS FOR SALE
Browse coin listings from collectors on Coinoscope Market, or create a listing for your own coin.

WHO IS COINOSCOPE FOR?
- Coin collectors identifying, organizing, and valuing their collections

I was really hoping to like this app and that it would meet my needs. Unfortunately, within the first 2 minutes of opening the app and trying to scan a coin I was hit with ads! It's bad enough when you're playing a game and ads thrown at you every 5 seconds, but when trying to, more or less, work? I do not think so! I uninstalled before I could even find out if it truly worked or not. Sad times really....

Thanks for feedback! Unfortunately as a small developer we have no other options than show ads within the app. It is possible to buy the Pro version for small subscription fee, which disables all ads and provides some additional features.

Super hard to use. You can't search for a specific dated coin. To edit out a pic from my collection (if i sell or gift one) has proven elusive as I gave up after 16 minutes of searching and clicking X on the repeated Spotify advertisements. It'd be great if they could give some instruction by a sample how to do it. So far, it's been kind of frustrating, and I haven't learned the price of a single coin in the 22 minutes since I took and stored the first 4 pics.

Just great. I finally find an app that does not require me to put a credit card up immediately to identify coins you can't. it's very clear this is a 1977 coin I'm looking at. yet no matter how many times I take a picture of it, I did it three times.. it's reading it as a 1971. obviously I can't trust your app. I guess it just isn't, wow. nothing but greed out there. And absent don't really work well.
