Chess Strategy Trainer isn't a chess app that narrates the moves you already made — it's built to think ahead with you.

Every recommendation in the app is chosen by looking several moves into the future and comparing how the position would actually turn out, then explained in plain language so you understand the reasoning, not just the verdict. The question the app is always answering is: given this exact position, what should I be trying to do right now — and why?

STRATEGY-FIRST, NOT MOVE-BY-MOVE COMMENTARY

Most chess apps tell you what you did wrong after the fact. This one focuses on what to do next. The Strategy Panel gives you a ranked list of candidate moves for the position on the board right now, each with a plain-language reason it's worth considering — what it accomplishes, what it defends against, what plan it serves. Suggestions are tagged Tactical (a specific, concrete point like a fork or a hanging piece) or General (a broader positional idea), so you always know what kind of reasoning you're looking at.

Beyond the immediate move, the app steps back and addresses the bigger picture: a single leading callout — either a tactical Priority Right Now or a longer-horizon Main Plan — tells you what matters most, followed by opening context, a live positional assessment, and further strategic commentary on pawn structure, piece activity, and endgame technique. Commentary on a move you already played only ever appears when it's useful context for what to do next, such as a warning that your last move left something exposed — never as a standalone verdict with nothing to act on.

TWO WAYS TO PLAY

- vs AI — play a full game against the built-in chess engine at Beginner, Casual, or Expert difficulty, as White or Black, with full Strategy Panel coaching throughout.
- Both Sides — move both colors yourself and get full coaching for whichever side is on move. Ideal for studying a position, replaying a real game move by move, or exploring "what if" lines without an opponent forcing the pace.

BUILT-IN TOOLS

- Set Up Position — hand-build any position from scratch, choose who moves first and castling rights, then get full Strategy Panel coaching from that exact position onward. Perfect for practicing an endgame, working through a puzzle from a book, or picking up a real game mid-stream.
- Move History — a full, scrollable list of every move played, with copy and export so you can save or share a game.
- Glossary — a searchable reference of chess terms, browsable by category or letter, independent of the move-specific coaching in the Strategy Panel.

MADE TO LOOK THE WAY YOU WANT

Choose from four piece styles — two flat vector sets and two realistic wooden sets — with an optional tilted 3D board perspective for the realistic sets, and flip board orientation to play from either side.

YOUR GAME, ON ALL YOUR DEVICES

Your current game syncs automatically between your own Android devices, tied to an anonymous identity created just for your install — never linked to your name, email, or Google account. The app works fine offline too: the core suggestion engine runs entirely on your device.
