About this app

The Micocyl app is a service for mushroom pickers in Castile and León, primarily designed to help them know at all times whether they are in a forest regulated under this project. The app alerts pickers to changes in their status using GPS and provides other useful features such as saving their car's parking coordinates for later retrieval, an SOS button that sends coordinates via SMS, and listings of tourist services: specialized restaurants, mycological guides, project events, permit issuance points, etc.

The app also includes a mycological catalog to identify the different edible mushrooms of Castile and León.

Finally, the app also allows users to obtain collection permits online. Once obtained, this permit is sent via both email and SMS, so pickers can obtain it in the field without needing to print a paper copy before harvesting.
