About this app

Microplex Headrest turns a tablet fixed to a taxi headrest into a passenger screen that shows advertisements, useful information and entertainment during the ride. It is built for fleet operators and advertisers who manage their screens from the Microplex web portal.

Note: this app is for tablets registered with a Microplex account. It needs a registration code from your operator, so it does nothing useful on an ordinary personal device.

FOR PASSENGERS
• Video, image and animated ads in a clean multi-zone layout
• Live clock, date and weather for the vehicle's area
• An Entertainment menu (music, television, football and more) that opens inside the app
• A company information screen with contact details and a QR code

FOR FLEET OPERATORS AND ADVERTISERS
• Ads chosen by place and time of day
• Keeps playing without internet and sends play and tap reports when the connection returns
• Control from the Microplex portal: change settings, the entertainment menu and the company details, and see each tablet's status
• Instant updates and remote start through push messages
• A status light on the screen turns red and lists the problem when something needs attention
• Optional kiosk mode keeps the ad screen in front

LOCATION
The app collects the tablet's location, including when the app is closed or not in use, to show ads for the area the vehicle is in and so the operator can see the vehicle on a map in the portal. It asks for your agreement before requesting permission, and a notification shows while this is running.

HOW TO START
1. Install the app on the headrest tablet.
2. Allow the permissions it asks for.
3. Enter the registration code from your Microplex portal.
4. The tablet downloads its ads and starts playing.
