About this app

Spindle is the listening journal for people who actually drop the needle.

When you put a record on, tap to start a spin. Side, mood, rating, an optional note —
Spindle quietly captures the session and builds it into a listening history you'll
actually want to look back at. No autoplay detection. No library hijacking. Just you and
your records.

WHAT YOU CAN DO
· Track every spin — side, mood, rating, and a private note if you want one.
· Connect Discogs to import your collection in one tap — every album, every pressing, every detail comes with it.
· Wrap up each session with a one-tap rating + mood, and build a journal of every record you've played.
· Build streaks. Spin most days and you'll feel it.
· Find your record twins — people whose collections overlap with yours, sometimes uncannily.

THE SOCIAL LAYER

Lightweight by design. No algorithmic feed.
· Weekly listening challenges with prompts — drop a record for "an album that feels the most you," "your most-played record lately," and so on. Share a clean summary card at the end of each week.
· Live reactions on Now Spinning — when friends see what you're currently spinning, they can fire emoji that float across your screen in real time. Never written to the database, never archived. Just the moment.
· Comments and picks. See what your friends are dropping the needle on this week.
NO ADS. NO TRACKING. NO SELLING YOUR DATA.
Spindle doesn't run ads, doesn't share your data with advertisers, and doesn't sell anything to data brokers. You can delete your account at any time — Profile → Delete Account — and nothing is retained.
Optional Last.fm scrobbling if you want to keep your scrobble history in sync.
OPTIONAL: SUPPORT SPINDLE
If Spindle makes vinyl more fun for you, there's a small tip jar in Settings. Tips are entirely optional — nothing in the app is gated behind a paywall.

Updated what's new for Open Testing

• On Display: put up to 5 records face-out on your profile — a shelf, not a ranking. Rearrange them, browse past walls, and share your wall.
• Pinch a challenge pick's cover with two fingers to zoom in.
• Tap someone's name on a pick to open their profile.
• See yourself "live" at the top of Now Spinning while a record is playing.
• Profile photos now show up across the app.
• Shake to shuffle now respects your folder and format filters.
