About this app

MI Spots is a private map of the places that matter to you.

Drop a pin on anywhere worth remembering — the coffee shop that gets it right, the trailhead with the view, the restaurant you keep forgetting the name of — and keep it somewhere you will actually find it again. Then decide, place by place, who else gets to see it.

SAVE A PLACE IN SECONDS
- Tap the map anywhere to drop a spot, or search for a place by name
- Give it a title, a description and a category
- Long-press one of your own pins to move it if you put it in the wrong place
- Your map opens framed around your own spots, right where you left it

ORGANISE WITH CATEGORIES
- Sort spots into colour-coded categories — Coffee, Hikes, Date night, anything
- Categories nest as deep as you like, so "Food" can hold "Ramen" and "Tacos"
- Hide and show categories to clear the map down to what you are looking for
- Each category has its own feed of everything posted at its spots

YOU CHOOSE WHO SEES WHAT
- Four levels on every spot: Public, Friends, Crew, or Private
- A spot follows its category by default, or overrides it — your call
- Crews are your groups: a crew's spots are visible to that crew and no one else
- Private means private. Nothing is public unless you make it public.

POST FROM THE PLACES YOU GO
- Add photos, videos and short notes to any spot
- React and comment on what your friends post
- A feed of everything from the people and places you follow
- Posts can narrow their audience below their spot's, never widen it

MISSIONS
- Build a list of spots into a mission — a coffee crawl, a weekend route
- Check spots off as you go, with progress tracked just for you
- Optionally require you to actually be there to check a spot off
- Follow missions other people have made public

CREWS
- Create a crew and add members as heads, members or prospects
- Crew spots and crew categories are shared with the whole crew at once

NOTIFICATIONS, ON YOUR TERMS
- Friend requests, reactions, comments and replies
- A per-type, per-channel settings screen — turn off anything you don't want

MI Spots is free. There are no ads, and your spots are never sold or shared with advertisers.

Location: MI Spots uses your device location only to centre the map on you and, where you have turned it on, to confirm you are at a mission spot when you check it off. It does not track your location in the background.
