Have you ever been close enough to someone that a single word, a glance, or a small gesture was enough to say everything? To anyone watching, almost nothing happened. Between the two of you, a whole world passed.

That is how PHIc works.

For hundreds of years we've thought of a message as a thing you send — a letter in an envelope, carried from one place to another. The internet kept the idea and just sped it up: we still "send," "upload," and "deliver," still move sealed packets between strangers. Other apps then try to make that envelope harder to open.

PHIc starts somewhere else. Understanding isn't something you transmit; it's something that arises between two people who share enough to make sense of each other. PHIc builds that shared understanding directly between your two devices, and from then on the meaning lives only there — the way it lives only between two people who know each other well. What actually crosses the network is almost nothing: meaningless values that mean something only to you and the person you're talking to. Someone watching the connection can tell that two devices spoke, but never what passed between them.

So there's no sealed envelope to pry open, because nothing meaningful is ever in transit. This is not encryption. It's a different kind of private. We call it Structural Privacy.

NO ONE KEEPS YOUR MAP
The relay that carries your messages can't see who talks to whom. It holds no contact list and no social graph — only a shared space of meaningless values that just your devices can make sense of. No central record of your relationships exists, here or anywhere.

BEST WITH THE APP OPEN
Because no server tracks who you are, PHIc can't send you push notifications — that's the price of leaving no trace. Keep the app open to receive messages and calls right away. For a call, it helps to agree on a time first, so both people have PHIc open and ready.

HONEST ABOUT WHAT IT IS
PHIc protects the content of your conversations, not the fact that they happen. A network observer can see that two devices are talking; they cannot read a word of it. We think that's a fair and honest trade — and we won't claim otherwise.
