About this app

The SteakMate app is designed to help you cook the perfect steak – no matter how you like it. SteakMate is your best friend when barbecuing or pan-frying Beef steaks. It ensures you have a great eating experience every time and takes the guess work out of cooking Beef steaks.

SteakMate is easy to use, simply enter the Beef steak you are cooking, the cooking method you are using, the doneness you are after and the thickness of your steak and SteakMate will tell you exactly how to cook it – with handy prompts of when to turn your steak and when it has finished cooking and needs to rest.

Cooking for more than one? SteakMate has that covered with its queuing functionality, allowing you to add as many people to the queue so that everyone gets their steak cooked the way they like it. Got a favourite steak you like to cook? Why not add it to favourites list in SteakMate so that you are only ever one step away from cooking the perfect steak.

Not sure about what steaks to barbecue or pan-fry? SteakMate gives you a list of all the Beef steaks recommended for cooking this way as well as information about each of them – it also includes all the alternate names for the same steak.

I've used this a few times now to cook multiple steaks for people with different needs and it's always been perfect for everyone. My only issue is that I can't figure out how to edit or clone a favourite, all I can do is delete or add to queue. If I'm cooking 8 identical steaks, and the only difference is "doneness" it would be great to just copy in the queue. Five stars anyway cos I have a belly full of perfect rare rump steak and that makes me happy.

I'm plain amazed this is free. It's a bit off with temperatures but that's fine for me. Most popular cuts are there, has perfect timing a lot of the time. Accounts for thickness and stove. I'm always using this app whenever i cook a steak. Reverse searing and meh-ish timing for basting would be cool but its great as it is. (Reverse searing temps, timing, thickness, etc.)

Used to be awesome, but they've broken it with latest update. Cannot add a second steak to queue without giving it a name. No way to name it until it is added to the queue. Thus it is impossible to have more than one steak.
