About this app

Companion For Spotify is designed to accompany the Spotify streaming music service. It automates several workflows so you can discover new music and manage playlists without the busywork.

Companion finds albums and singles from artists you follow or have saved to your library (and related artists) since your last visit. It can also detect updates to playlists you follow. In both cases, you can import the new songs into a playlist of your choosing — a great way to auto-create a daily update playlist for listening. The app can also generate randomized playlists from the artists you follow.

Unlike other tools that generate playlists for you, Companion For Spotify only generates content from artists and playlists that you follow. Who has time to click on every artist and playlist to see what's new? Now there is no need — Companion will do it for you.

This is not a music player. Companion connects to your Spotify account, finds updates across your library, and builds playlists you listen to in Spotify.

FEATURES NEW RELEASES
Detects when artists you follow (or have saved to your library) have added new albums or singles. Add those releases to a playlist of your choosing.

UPDATED PLAYLISTS
Detects when public playlists you follow have had new songs added since the last time you checked. Add those songs to a playlist of your choosing.

NEW PLAYLISTS
Detects when your favorite curators have published new public playlists you might want to follow.

ARTISTS I FOLLOW
Generates a playlist of random songs from artists you follow (with options for related artists and popular tracks). A great way to hear forgotten songs and deep cuts from artists you love.

COMBINE PLAYLISTS
Quickly merge tracks from multiple playlists into a single playlist.

PLAYLIST SWAP
Clones a playlist and replaces every song with a different song from the same artist — a fresh variety based on your musical preferences.

SONG ANALYZER
Paste a track link and see every playlist in your library that contains that song.

FREE AND PRO
Try every feature with free limits. Upgrade to Pro on this device through in-app purchase to remove collection caps. Purchases and restores are managed by the app store on this device.

• An active Spotify account
• Follow artists and/or playlists on Spotify for discovery features to find content

IMPORTANT NOTE:
This application is not a replacement for Spotify and it does not let you stream music from the Spotify library. Instead, it generates playlists based on your habits and configuration that you can then listen to using your Spotify player.

Ratings and reviews

Great app if you're trying to keep track of all your new music from your favorite artists, especially if you follow hundreds of artists. Th best thing is that you can just keep adding the latest music to already existing playlists. I miss one important part, and that is the option to exclude songs that get released in compilation albums. If there was a checkbox for "only new albums by the actual artist" that would be gold!

Useful tool but it should either be free or be better and have more features. I just deleted my new releases Playlist in Spotify because it was too full and wanted to create a new one with all of today's releases and it just didn't create it. Now I've lost all access to today's releases. You should also have an option to disable Various Artist releases imo.

Excellent little app. Great for discovering new releases and updated playlists. You can play the new release song or album you are interested in straight from Spotify, by pressing the link button. Works perfectly, supported well by the developer and definitely worth the cost.
