HTMLtoMarkdown converts HTML and web page URLs into clean Markdown.
Paste HTML, open an HTML file, share a link from your browser, or enter a URL and let the app pull out the article and convert it.
Everything is converted on your device. Your content is never sent to a developer server.
OVERVIEW
Turn blog posts, technical docs, and news articles into well-formed Markdown. HTMLtoMarkdown parses the HTML on your device and handles headings, bold and italic text, links, images, lists, tables, blockquotes, and code blocks, including Japanese pages.
KEY FEATURES
• Paste HTML and convert it instantly
• Open an .html file from your device
• Enter a web page URL, or share a link to the app from your browser or any other app
• Three extraction modes: article only, full page, or HTML source
• Automatic article extraction keeps menus, ads, comments, and share buttons out of your Markdown
• Pages that build their content with JavaScript are rendered automatically when a plain download has no content
• Metadata extraction: title, author, publish date, site name, canonical URL, Open Graph, Twitter Card, and JSON-LD
• Optional YAML front matter
• Relative links and image addresses are converted to absolute URLs
• Images: keep the original URLs, remove them, or export the Markdown together with the downloaded images as a ZIP file or into a folder
• Tracking pixels, tiny icons, avatars, ads, and duplicate images are skipped
• Edit the Markdown and check it in a preview
• Copy the result, share it as text, or share and save it as a .md file
• History with search, favorites, filtering by site, re-convert, and delete
• Conversion rules: remove scripts, styles, comments, and hidden elements; keep or drop links, images, and tables; tidy blank lines
• Output presets: Standard, GitHub, Obsidian, and Notion
• Light mode, dark mode, and dynamic color on Android 12 and later
• Large text and TalkBack supported
• Japanese and English
WHO IT'S FOR
• Engineers and bloggers who manage technical writing in Markdown
• Users of Markdown-based tools such as Obsidian and Notion
• Anyone who regularly edits GitHub READMEs and documentation
• Anyone who wants to save web articles in a format that is easy to read and reuse later
WHY HTMLTOMARKDOWN
• Convert from pasted HTML, an HTML file, or straight from a URL
• Output you can fine-tune: every conversion rule can be switched on or off
• Clean, readable Markdown without navigation and ads
• Works with the Android share sheet, so a link is one tap away from a conversion
PRIVACY
The HTML, URLs, and Markdown you work with are never sent to a developer server. The app has no accounts, no ads, and no analytics. When you convert a URL, your device downloads that page directly from the website you chose, and when you export with images it downloads those images the same way. Your history is stored only on your device and can be deleted at any time from Settings.
Requires Android 8.0 or later.
Convert HTML and web pages to clean Markdown, fully on your device. No servers.
