About this app

Parents Gateway is an initiative by MOE to enable parents with Singpass to interact with schools more conveniently on administrative matters. Parents will also be able to use this app to stay updated on school’s programme and activities.

The mobile app is currently only available for mainstream MOE Kindergartens, Primary schools, Secondary schools and Junior Colleges/Centralised Institute.

We appreciate if you can share with us your feedback to help MOE enhance and improve the experience, benefiting more parents in future.

[Known Issues]
- Samsung S7 on Android 6 and 7 is known to have compatibility issues. To use Parents Gateway, please upgrade to Android 8

- Enhanced security measures have been put in place for rooted devices. The security measures is known to block apps such as Lucky Patcher and Rom Manager.
Uninstalling these apps will enable you to use the Parents Gateway app.

- No or inconsistent notifications received by Oppo and Huawei devices. This is due to battery optimisation configurations set by manufacturer.

- If you choose to log out of Parents Gateway, you will stop receiving notifications for new announcements and consent forms until your next log-in.

- The Parents Gateway app uses Singpass to identify parents of students in MOE schools. Singpass is only used to identify and authenticate the parent. The Singpass ID and the password will not be stored in the app. Upon successful authentication, the connection to Singpass will be terminated and the login will henceforth be managed by the Parents Gateway app. There is no risk of Singpass credentials being stolen if a user stays logged in.

When it works, it is great, but 1) for some users, the notification might suddenly stop working 2) recent update does not show in play store nor auto-updates but is only triggered when opening the app. As the nature of the app is to send parents letters and messages from school, rarely anyone will just open it if there is no notification. Hence, I missed a lot of messages from school over months until the form teacher prompted me over email as neither me nor my spouse responded to the message.

Dear Bambang, We are sorry to hear about the inconvenience. Could you try the following: Check under Phone Settings > Device Care > Battery > Background usage limits > Sleeping apps and check that Parents Gateway is not in the list. Alternatively, under Profile > Notifications in PG, check if the notification settings is turned on.

Edit: Received a quick reply and was advised to remove and reinsert APN. Working after that. Thanks! -initial review- There are problems connecting using SIMBA mobile line, it gets stuck at the PG logo. The only way to access currently is through home or work wifi. Please check your server configuration to allow SIMBA mobile lines to access the PG app.

I'm having trouble opening this app since 2024 starts! I've uninstall and install this app, God knows how many times. It just hang on that page when they want to scan your Singpass and nothing happened! Pls rectify this soon as i do not know what messages my kids' schools have left for me to acknowledge.

Dear Elena Sorry that you have faced such difficulty. It may not be a PG app issue; it could be purely a telco issue. In this case, pls uninstall and reinstall your Singpass App & try Singpass Password login (if you used QR before). Please email us at MOE_Parents_Gateway@moe.gov.sg with a screen recording if problem persists.
