CouchControl is a simple couch-side remote — control VLC media player on
your computer and your Philips TV directly from your phone, with no
internet connection, server, or account required. Everything runs entirely
within your home WiFi network.
VLC PLAYER
Play/pause, stop, skip forward/back 10 seconds, adjust volume, and switch
between tracks. The current video title and playback progress update in
real time. Save multiple VLC devices at once (e.g. living room, office)
and switch between them with a single tap — each device clearly shows
whether it's actually reachable right now.
PHILIPS TV
Control channels, volume, and input/HDMI source directly over the network.
For phones with an infrared emitter, TV power on/off is also available via
IR signal — something a network connection alone can't do.
AUTOMATIC DEVICE DISCOVERY
The app automatically finds VLC and Philips TV on your local network.
Manual entry remains available as a fallback, and every setting change
saves automatically — no extra buttons required.
BUILT-IN GUIDES
The app includes a step-by-step guide for connecting VLC for the first
time (including fixes for common obstacles like Windows Firewall), plus
an explanation of how the IR feature works.
Available in Slovenian and English, with a one-tap switch. No ads, no
tracking, no accounts — a minimal app that does exactly what it says.
Remote control for VLC and Philips TV over WiFi — no internet, no login.
