MoneyWise Junior is a student-focused financial literacy web app designed to make finance simple, engaging, and practical for middle and high school students. The platform was created to address the lack of financial awareness among young people by teaching essential money-management concepts through interactive and relatable learning experiences. Instead of relying on textbook-style explanations, the app combines technology, storytelling, and gamification to make financial education accessible and enjoyable for students.
The platform consists of multiple interactive modules covering foundational financial topics such as What is Money, Smart Spending & Budgeting, Saving Habits, Banking & Digital Payments, Basics of Investing, and Financial Planning. Each module is designed using short explainer videos, comics, gamified quizzes, real-life financial simulations, practical challenges, worksheets, and interactive tools like budgeting planners and savings trackers. Students learn concepts through everyday scenarios and activities that encourage practical application rather than memorization.
The first module, “What is Money?”, introduces students to the evolution, purpose, and importance of money in daily life, while later modules explore topics such as differentiating needs from wants, creating budgets, understanding bank accounts and UPI payments, developing saving habits, and learning the fundamentals of investing and financial decision-making. To make learning more engaging, students earn coins, badges, and rewards upon completing modules and activities, creating a motivating gamified learning environment.
Each module concludes with a worksheet-based assessment to evaluate understanding and encourage reflection on real-life financial situations. Students who score above 50% in the assessments and successfully complete the course receive a certificate jointly issued by MoneyWise Junior and the AICAPD Innovation Mobile School NGO, recognizing their participation, financial literacy skills, and learning achievements.
The platform also includes MoneyMaster, an AI-powered finance tutor that provides personalized guidance and helps students solve finance-related doubts interactively. In addition to the web app, MoneyWise Junior extends its impact through workshops, awareness campaigns, and educational outreach sessions aimed at promoting financial literacy among students and underserved communities.
